The husband-and-wife team at Blanco Bronco Adventures utilize their 2022 Wildtrak to create some of the best and light-hearted Bronco content out there. From tutorials, products reviews, trail overviews and event recaps, Blanco Bronco Adventures covers it all. And, as we learned, the passion and humor that come across through their content is driven by their goal to create unforgettable memories with their three sons.

Their story begins in an Idaho high school, where Derick and Monica met. Just two crazy teenagers with a passion for cars—Monica driving a 1984 Ford Bronco II and Derick a 1988 Ford Ranger— falling in love.

Monica recalls the day that her father bought the 1984 Bronco II, a “beater”, for $800.  They drove it home, keeping it under 45 mph in case something broke. The plan was to use the Bronco to drive their dog in around town. But Monica fell in love with it.  When she finally got her license, the manual Bronco was the only car she wanted.

Our favorite thing about this Bronco is all the adventures we’ve had in it. The mods and upgrades have been wonderful and made it more capable than we would have ever expected. But the 44,000 miles and 13 states have made for some unforgettable memories. We’ve connected with so many members of the Bronco/off-road community and made lifelong friendships simply because we bought this.

Monica, Blanco Bronco Adventures

It’s clear that the team at Blanco Bronco Adventures are pretty handy.  They install their own modifications and record it for our benefit. Although it shouldn’t be surprising as Derick grew up around hot rods and started working on cars at a young age with his three brothers. When Derick met Monica, he was in the process of restoring an International Scout 80. But he never got around to finishing it as Monica kept him quite busy.

So, when Derick and Monica saw the announcement for the new Ford Bronco in 2020, they were hooked.  Immediately they put in an order and couldn’t wait to add their second Bronco to the family. However, it would be 18 months before they brought their Wildtrak home. In July of 2022, their Bronco finally arrived.

Surprisingly, when they placed the order for the “Lux” Wildtrak, their original intention was to use it as a daily driver/soccer mom SUV.  But when you read the mods below, you might be wondering if this mom is driving the Rubicon to get to soccer practice.

Not bad for a mall crawler, right?

But really, how did they go from a soccer mom SUV to Blanco Bronco?  Well Monica explained that when they finally received their Bronco, they found an event called “The Bronco Roundup” organized by the Inland Northwest Bronco Club. And that’s when they really fell in love with the Bronco— because of the community.

They couldn’t believe how welcoming and supportive a group of strangers could be, and how much fun and capable the Bronco was.  Derick and Monica began joining the club on trail runs and the rest is history.

“Our favorite thing about this Bronco is all the adventures we’ve had in it,” explained Monica. “The mods and upgrades have been wonderful and made it more capable than we would have ever expected. But the 44,000 miles and 13 states have made for some unforgettable memories. We’ve connected with so many members of the Bronco/off-road community and made lifelong friendships simply because we bought this.”

What’s next for Blanco Bronco Adventures? Well, they recently bought a 1968 Ford Bronco that needs a lot of work.  They’ll be documenting the build on their YouTube channel, so be sure to follow them there.

We have a feeling Blanco Bronco hasn’t seen the last of its modifications, either. And maybe Derick will finally get back to restoring that Scout. To be determined…
